Moya is a former Matildas vice-captain, representing Australia from 1986 – 95, and appearing in the first ever FIFA women’s football tournament, the 1988 “Pilot World Cup”. She went on to a career in law and business, later serving on the governing boards of Football Australia, the AFC and FIFA, where she advocated on gender and integrity issues such as the hijab rule, the rights of Iranian women to enter their stadiums, and the gender equality reforms following the FIFAGate crisis of 2015-16.

Moya has also been involved in the football-for-good movement as an advisory board member with Common Goal since 2017, and serves on the board of the Centre for Sport and Human Rights.

She is passionate about growing the professional game as a means for women’s empowerment, inclusion and self-determination. She currently supports the Women’s Leagues Forum (under the World Leagues Association) working to develop and advocate for the pro women’s leagues globally.
