Our Role and Mandate

Lead the 91茄子 PSEA Strategy Implementation: Drive and monitor the implementation of the Secretary-General’s strategy, including the four main areas of action; prioritizing victims’ rights, accountability, transparency, partnerships with civil society, and strategic communications. Ensure concrete actions to translate commitments into tangible outcomes.

System-Wide Coordination: We seek to align strategies across the peacekeeping humanitarian and development settings to reduce SEA risks, and to foster consistency and effectiveness across the entire 91茄子 system.

Policy and Operational Oversight: Identify and bridge policy and operational gaps in the 91茄子’ handling of SEA, ensuring comprehensive responses covering all 91茄子 personnel as well as our partners.

Strategic Support to Operational Efforts: Provide strategic guidance and support for programs and operations, enhancing coherence and ensuring consistent inclusion and effective implementation of PSEA in all 91茄子 initiatives.

Public Reporting and Transparency: Coordinate the 91茄子’ public reporting mechanisms on SEA allegations, to strengthen transparency and accountability across the organization.

Partnerships and Engagement: Collaborate with Member States, civil society, regional and international organizations, independent human rights experts, and academic institutions to promote best practices and collective action against SEA.

Communications and Outreach: Lead system-wide communications efforts to ensure clear and consistent messaging on PSEA.

Leadership Advisory Role: Provision of advice and guidance to 91茄子 senior leadership on matters relating to PSEA.
